Jupiter Artland
10-year anniversary celebrations. Woodlands learners in General B and General R are working with Ms Russell and Jupiter Artland to mark our joint 10-year birthday celebrations. This work culminates in an event at Jupiter Artland on Thursday 24th May.
Sports Week
Our Sports Week this year will take place during the week commencing 28h May. The PE department will send out more information about this event shortly. There will be a special sports assembly to celebrate learners’ achievements on Friday 1st June.
Prize Giving
This will take place from 2pm-3.30pm on Thursday 7th June in the school hall. Due to Health and Safety reasons we can only accommodate 20 parents/carers at the Prize Giving Event. If you wish to attend this event, please contact the school office. Please note that places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and will be restricted to ONE parent/carer per learner.
Senior Prom
Thanks to the efforts of Mrs Leitch and Mrs Nicolson – and some very generous donors – senior learners will join Woodlands’ leavers on the evening of Friday 8th June at Woodlands very first senior prom. A separate letter has been sent to senior learners regarding this.
Music Festival
The whole of the school will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary through Woodbury Music Festival – a two-day music festival – taking place here at Woodlands on June 13th and 14th. The whole school is involved and learners will be involved in preparations from the beginning of the week and will have the opportunity to take part in workshops, perform and enjoy performances by other learners and musicians alike over the two-day festival itself. In addition, all learners will achieve an Art Award through their participation in the festival at either discover or explore levels. The week will culminate in a special assembly to celebrate learners’ achievements on the Friday.
Woodlands School Summer Fair
This fun event will take place on Friday 22nd June between 10.30am and 12 noon. We hope to see as many of you as possible. The parents’ council will be contacting you separately for donations for the very popular tombola.
Learners BBQ/End of term disco
The annual BBQ for learners will also take place on Tuesday 26th June. If your child normally brings a packed lunch on this date, and you would like them to join in with the BBQ lunch, please send in £2.55 to cover the cost of this. Following the BBQ there will be a summer disco for learners. Learners are welcome to wear their disco clothes to school that morning if they wish. However, if they would prefer to wear their school uniform in the morning there will be an opportunity for them to change before the disco.
Leavers’ Ceremony
The Leavers’ ceremony will take place on Thursday 28th June from 2pm to 3pm in the school hall. Due to Health and Safety reasons we can only accommodate 20 parents/carers at the Leavers’ ceremony event. If you wish to attend this event, please contact the school office. Please note that places will be allocated on a first come basis and will be restricted to ONE parent/carer per learner. These places are strictly restricted to parents and carers of Leavers only.
Term dates
School will break for the summer holidays at 12 noon on Friday 29th June. School will resume for learners, after the summer break, on Wednesday 15th August 2018.
