Headteacher’s Message
Welcome to our website where you will find information on our school aims and values, our educational provision in its widest sense and our many achievements
Woodlands School opened in 2008 and is a Special School in Currie, Edinburgh, providing personalised education for secondary-aged learners with a wide range of learning disabilities. The school is set in an attractive campus, in a beautiful wooded area named Roley’s Wood, which we share with Currie Community High School.
Our school has a roll of 80 learners. Our classes have a maximum of 10 learners but most are smaller to better meet individual needs. Every class has at least one Pupil Support Assistant. Our excellent accommodation provides a tailored learning environment for our learners.
Our school emblem is an acorn which symbolises our nurturing and achieving environment, allowing our young people to grow into strong individuals with a sense of belonging.
Our aim is for all learners to develop confidence , respect and skills for life.
Mrs Angelina Lombardo, Head Teacher
