Letters to Parent/Carer

Notice Board

Dear Woodlands Parents and Carers

Thank you so much for having me this morning – I really loved getting to know everyone and talking about my favourite subject!

As promised, below are the links I spoke about:

Day Services and Supported Living Options in Edinburgh for Young People with Significant Intellectual/Learning Disabilities – this is the Padlet managed by CEC / YAD listing some adult services available in and around Edinburgh.

Compass – online transition planning tool – this is the tool that will create a transition timeline for you keeping you on track about what happens when.

Parent/Carer Guide to ASN Post School Enhanced Transition Planning – this is a Padlet managed by CEC / YAD – a Guide to Transition Planning

And here are links to some good videos:

Impact of Digital Passports – YouTube – video explaining why it is so good to have a care passport in place. A really good watch!

What is a Guardianship Order? – Who would need one and when?

I have also attached the care passports templates that I spoke about.

Everyone is welcome to get in touch with me directly if they wish to.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We received official notice that our car park and drop off area at Woodlands will be out of use from Monday 11th May until the end of June.  We have been working with Kier Construction on alternative arrangements for drop off and pick up for our young people and we will do everything we can to reduce any impact these changes may have.  Further information including a plan of the new arrangements will come to you next week, but please be aware that the car park will be OUT OF USE from 11th May

Rhoda

Dear Parent / Carer

I hope you are all well.  We held our first Parent/Carer Coffee Morning at Woodlands last Thursday and Mark Ralton from VOCAL attended.  We had a fairly good turn out, but more importantly the parents who attended felt the session was extremely helpful in providing very useful information.  We will be holding the coffee mornings every month.
