Ski Club

Woodlands Ski Club is a project in collaboration with the Kaimes Special School which runs every Friday afternoon at Midlothian Snowsports Centre. The club is funded by a grant from  BBC Children in Need and is therefore free for our learners. The aim of the club is to provide an opportunity for our children to learn and develop their skiing skills, as well as, promote their own independence and improve their social skills. Throughout the year the young people have the opportunity to participate in several day trips to Snow Factor and residential trips to help the progression onto real snow. The residential trips happen once a year and places to visit could be a Scottish resort or an international. In 2018 we had a group of 10 learners and 4 staff from both schools travelling to Le Corbier in the Franch Alps.
